বিভিন্ন দেশ থেকে হাজার হাজার কর্মীকে ছাঁটাই করছে ইউরোপীয় বিমান প্রস্তুতকারী সংস্থা এয়ারবাস। সারা বিশ্বে বহুজাতিক এ কোম্পানির ১ লাখ ৩৪ হাজার কর্মী রয়েছেন। করোনাভাইরাস সঙ্কটে বিমান প্রস্তুতকারী বিশ্বের বৃহত্তম এ কোম্পানি আগামী বছরের মধ্যে ১৫ হাজার কর্মীকে ছাঁটাইয়ের সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে। ৩০ জুন তারা এ বিষয়ে আনুষ্ঠানিক ঘোষণা দিয়েছে।

এয়ারবাসের এ সিদ্ধান্তের ফলে জার্মানিতে ৫ হাজার ১০০, ফ্রান্সে ৫ হাজার, ব্রিটেনে ১৭০০, স্পেনে ৯০০ এবং অন্যান্য দেশে ১৩০০ কর্মী বেকার হয়ে পড়বেন।
এয়ারবাসের সদর দফতর নেদারল্যান্ডের লেইডেনে। এ কোম্পানিতে ফ্রান্স, জার্মানি, স্পেনের শেয়ার রয়েছে। বিশ্বের অধিকাংশ বিমান প্রস্তুতের আদেশ তারাই পেয়ে থাকে। কিন্তু করোনাভাইরাসে কোম্পানির ব্যবসা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে।
